How to put your own web page or widget on stream
A web overlay puts any web page on your stream by its link: a quiz show you built, a widget from an overlay site, a counter. Add up to three under Settings → Show → Web overlays, pick a shape and size, and move it in Edit like any overlay. Your own page also hears the show as it happens: every chat line, caption, alert, poll and trigger is posted to it, so it can react, and a trigger set to a deck button becomes a button for your page.
- Settings → Show → Web overlays → Add a web overlay
- Paste the page's https link, pick its shape and size
- In the studio, Edit to move it where you want it
Listening from your own page
atme posts each event to your page as { atme, data }: atme is "chat", "said", "event", "trigger" or "poll". In your page: window.addEventListener("message", (e) => { if (e.data?.atme === "chat") console.log(e.data.data.m.user, e.data.data.m.text); });
A trigger set to Deck button arrives as atme "trigger" with its id, so a deck button or hotkey can drive your page: next question, show the answer, add one to a count.
Questions
- Is the page see-through?
- Yes, where the page itself has no background.
