Gaming streamers

Gaming streamers get found by game rather than by name: people search a title, a category or a speedrun record and land on whoever is playing it now. Twitch, YouTube and Kick each sort live channels by game inside their own app, and none of them link out to the others. These pages hold a streamer's schedule, every platform they stream to, and the setup their gameplay actually runs on.

Questions

Where do gaming streamers stream?

Twitch, YouTube and Kick carry almost all of it, and simulcasting to two or three at once is now normal. Each platform sorts live channels by game inside its own app and links only to itself, so a viewer following one account still misses the streams that started elsewhere.

What is a speedrun?

A speedrun is an attempt to finish a game as fast as possible under an agreed set of rules, timed and usually submitted to a leaderboard. Runs are streamed live because an attempt has to be seen unedited to count, and a serious run can take many hours of failed attempts before one lands.

What is a VTuber?

A VTuber streams as an animated character driven by face and motion tracking instead of appearing on camera. Everything else is the same: the same platforms, the same schedule, the same gear, and the same problem of being findable in more than one place at once.

What gear does a gaming streamer use?

Each creator page lists their own setup item by item: camera, microphone, capture card, lights, headset and encoder, with a link to each. It is the answer to a question a channel description almost never gives.
